CRN - Canadian Registration Number
CRN IN CANADA, THE REQUIREMENTS FOR DESIGN REGISTRATION OF BOILER, PRESSURE
VESSEL, AND PIPING ARE SPECIFIED BY THE CSA B51 STANDARD.
We typically
process between 40 to 60 CRN applications each year, consisting of
- Pressure Vessels,
- Heat Exchangers
- Boilers,
- Strainers,
- Valves and Fittings,
- Metering Devices
- Piping
and more, covering ASME Section I and Section IV boilers, Section VIII-1 pressure
vessels and heat exchangers, and B31.1/B31.3 piping. We review your design
calculations and drawings to ensure compliance with the applicable ASME Codes
and jurisdictional requirements. Some jurisdictions require a Canadian licensed P. Eng.
to stamp the drawings for registration. We also manage the application on your behalf
to resolve any questions from the jurisdictions. If you have a custom fitting for
which the design cannot be substantiated by Code rules, it is still possible to obtain
a CRN by conducting a proof test according to UG-101. We have test equipment that can
generate pressure up to 60,000 psig.
